WHAT IS EVOLIFT?
Evolift is a refined, minimally-invasive outpatient laser procedure. A slender
fiber-optic laser wire is delicately inserted beneath the skin’s surface, targeting
the superficial tissue layers of the face. This innovative technique allows for
precise and direct laser energy delivery to the skin and underlying fat, all while
you remain comfortable under local anesthesia in an outpatient setting.

HOW DOES EVOLIFT WORK?
A state-of-the-art, single-use, ultra-thin fiber-optic wire is gently inserted beneath the skin into the hypodermis, a superficial layer. This minimally invasive approach eliminates the need for incisions, as the wire’s heated tip facilitates smooth insertion. Once in place, the wire delivers precise laser energy, selectively targeting water and fat molecules in the treatment area. This targeted energy application induces skin tightening, stimulates collagen synthesis, and melts unwanted fat deposits. Following the procedure, the wire is simply removed and discarded.

WHAT ARE THE COSMETIC EFFECTS?
Evolift primarily focuses on skin tightening, with the added benefit of optional fat reduction. This synergistic approach can result in a more sculpted, defined, and youthful facial appearance. However, it’s important to note that results aren’t immediate. Early to mid-term improvements typically appear within 8-12 weeks, with full results manifesting around the 6-month mark. HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
A typical facial treatment session lasts approximately 75 minutes, encompassing skin preparation, local anesthesia administration, and laser application.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?

However, individuals with more pronounced skin sagging or excess fat may require additional treatments to achieve and maintain optimal results.

DOES EVOLIFT HURT?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia administered via a skin injection. This may cause a brief, uncomfortable stinging sensation lasting 15-30 seconds, followed by numbness in the treated area. The subsequent Evolift laser treatment is generally well-tolerated, with minimal to no discomfort. The anesthetic effects typically subside within 1-2 hours.

WHAT PREPARATION DO I NEED?
On the day of your treatment, it’s best to avoid makeup and remove any earrings. Additionally, refrain from other facial laser treatments for at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment. For optimal results, avoid using peel-based creams, such as retinol, for a week leading up to the procedure.

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY PERIOD?
Immediately: skin redness (settles within the first 24 hours)
First 5-7 days: swelling (gradually improves usually within
two weeks), bruising (gradually resolves within one week)
First 2-3 months: temporary numbness of treated areas
(normal and usually improves by 3 months)
Recovery timelines can vary from person to person. While the provided estimates are a general guideline, individual factors may influence your healing process. It’s essential to plan your treatment around other commitments, allowing ample time for recovery.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS?
Evolift is considered a safe procedure with a low risk profile. A comprehensive list of potential risks, side effects, and complications is outlined in your consent form. While rare, a significant complication to be aware of is nerve bruising, particularly affecting the marginal mandibular nerve located in the lower face. In a limited number of cases, laser heat may irritate this nerve, leading to temporary lip asymmetry on the affected side. To expedite recovery, some patients may be prescribed a short course of oral steroids and vitamin B tablets. It’s important to note that this is a temporary condition that typically resolves within 8-10 weeks. To minimize this risk, treatment is carefully avoided near the mouth angles.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTERWARDS?
Following the procedure, you can resume eating and drinking immediately and return home, including driving. You will receive an aftercare pack containing a face band, recovery creams, and detailed aftercare instructions.
A virtual or in-person follow-up appointment will be scheduled at the clinic 12 weeks post-treatment to assess your results and discuss potential future treatments if needed. You will also be provided with contact information should you have any questions or require earlier review.

CAN EVOLIFT BE REPEATED IN FUTURE?
For some individuals, additional Evolift treatments may be considered to further enhance their results. These repeat treatments are typically scheduled 6-8 months after the initial procedure.

WHEN IS IT SAFE TO FLY AFTER EVOLIFT?
Flying is generally safe after facial laser treatment. While changes in cabin pressure at high altitudes may temporarily exacerbate swelling, especially on longer flights, it typically doesn’t impact the overall treatment outcome.
